Size

Three beaded rosettes on a natural tan band — hot pink on the outside, a ring of white in the middle, coral at the centre. The tan leather keeps it warm rather than sugary, which is the difference between a pink collar you like and one you get tired of by March.

One of our slim collars. The beadwork sits in three separate rosettes rather than covering the whole band, so it stays light and flexible — a sensible everyday choice rather than an occasion piece.

Getting the size right

Order by your dog's measured neck, not by breed. The sizes below are the neck the collar closes around — not the length of the strap — and a tape measure takes ten seconds.

Landed exactly on the top number of a range? Take the next size up — a collar you can loosen is more useful than one you can't.

How wide it will be

Width comes with the size rather than being chosen separately. On a small dog this is a delicate 3/4" band; on a large one it is a substantial 1 1/2".

Looking after it

Pale leather shows marks sooner than dark, so wipe it down with a barely damp cloth after muddy walks and let it dry at room temperature. Keep it out of the washing machine and away from radiators. Expect the tan to deepen over the first few months — most people prefer it once it has.
