A wide band covered edge to edge in black and cream beadwork, the stripes worked freehand so no two run quite the same way. Monochrome, so it goes with any coat colour — and still the first thing anyone notices.

One of our wide collars. The entire front face is beaded rather than a rosette or a single line, which is why it costs more and why it has real presence on a bigger dog.

A wide band sits flatter and spreads pressure better on a broad neck.

Getting the size right

Sizes are the fitted neck range, and width scales with size — the smallest three are 3/4", the largest 1 1/2". Worth knowing before you order a wide beaded collar for a small dog, where it can look like a cuff.

Between two sizes, go up. A fully beaded band has very little stretch.

How wide it will be

This is the chart worth checking before you order. A fully beaded 1 1/2" band has real presence on a large dog and can overwhelm a small one.

Looking after it

Brush loose dirt off the beadwork with a dry soft brush before it gets ground in, then wipe the leather with a damp cloth. Never soak a fully beaded collar — there are thousands of stitches in the face of it and water is what works them loose. Dry flat, away from heat.
